Air taxi trial to take to the skies in 2019
Singapore is set to start experimental drills in the second 50% of the year.
The skies of Singapore are set to buzz with their first air taxis in 2019, when Volocopter begins its internal urban flight tests.
The German organization’s tests, booked for the last 50% of the year, will evaluate its EVTOL (electric vertical take-off and finding) vehicles’ reasonableness for the city.
The automaton like Volocopters can fly two individuals almost 19 miles (barely shy of 30 km) and can’t be heard over the typical commotion of a city, the organization said.
“We are preparing to begin executing the main settled courses in urban communities,” Florian Reuter, Volocopter’s CEO, said in an announcement. “Singapore is a coherent accomplice: The city is a genuine pioneer in innovation and city improvement.”
Volocopter played out an open unmanned practice run in Dubai the previous fall and various others in Germany.
